Stanislav Vilums


Born in 1968 in Rēzekne, Latvia, Stanislavs Vilums has been refining the art of ceramics since 1990. As a master of folk crafts (TDM, 2000), he works without industrial technologies, only with clay, fire and a potter's wheel.


His works, exhibited in Latvia, Norway, Germany and Australia, reflect a deep connection to Latvian cultural heritage.

A light smoke scent from the roasting gives the cups character that softens with use.


The unglazed exterior matures over time and absorbs scents from coffee or tea, making each cup personalised.

Each cup is handmade by Stanislavs Vilums in Cukrasáta, Latvia. Reduction firing gives the unique black-silver hue, where the traces of fire create life. The unglazed exterior matures over time, absorbing flavours from coffee or tea and becoming your own.

About the artist

Stanislavs Vilums, born 1968 in Rēzekne, Latvia, has been moulding ceramics since 1990. As a master of folk crafts (TDM, 2000), he works with clay and fire, free from industrial methods. His works, exhibited in Latvia, Norway, Germany and Australia, bear Latvian heritage.

Maintenance

Hand wash preserves the soul of the cup. Treated with edible olive oil for water repellency. Dishwasher safe at low temperature.
